Prototype AMOLET Display
Working with the Advanced Display Research Center in Seoul nVerpix has successfully fabricated AMOLET quarter VGA displays. These displays use the ultra-simple pixel circuit shown above. The switching TFTs were made from a standard amorphous silicon switching transistor process (same as that used in LCD production). The displays show crisp video and imagery at all typical display refresh rates. We are now working to take the next step to larger display sizes and begin production scale-up.
- First 5/8 of the process nearly identical to LCD backplane
- CNT layer patterned by conventional lithography and subtractive (dry) etch techniques
- Existing industry standard mfg processes (little retooling needed)
- Mask count same as existing AMOLED processes
